A good fit for
Riders comfortable steering, braking and passing others on a shared path. Choose the shorter option if the group is still building stamina.
Arrival & parking
Choose signed public parking serving Busselton Foreshore and check limits. Use the council walking and cycling maps to identify your path connection before unloading.
Toilets & water
The tourism association lists foreshore toilets, showers, picnic areas and barbecues. Bring full water bottles and use facilities near the start before riding west.

Start near the jetty, follow the coast west and return for play or lunch. The bay-side path makes an easy holiday outing because you can choose the turnaround to suit the youngest rider.

This is a suggested cap of 3 km west along the foreshore cycling path from the jetty precinct, then back: up to 6 km return. It is not the full Busselton–Dunsborough ride, and the jetty itself is not part of the cycling route. Time is a planning allowance, not a measured ride time.

  1. 0 km / Jetty foreshore precinct

    Leave the jetty precinct slowly

Find the signed foreshore cycling path heading west towards Dunsborough. Walk through busy visitor areas before settling into a riding pace.

  2. By 3 km / Westward turnaround

    Follow the bay, then turn

Stay on the coastal dual-use route and count your outward distance from the starting precinct. Turn by 3 km, earlier if wind or little legs suggest it.

  3. Up to 6 km / Back for play

    Save the playground for home

Return on the same path to the jetty precinct. Park the bikes before heading to the playground or choosing a food stop.

MAKE IT A SMALLER OUTING

Stay close to the jetty

Turn after about 1 km for a roughly 2 km return. Keep the rest of the outing for the foreshore playgrounds.

Places to pause.

After returning

Foreshore playgrounds

The precinct offers several play areas, including a train-themed area for younger children. Choose one and enjoy it without trying to add another ride.

Along the way

Watch for beach access points, dogs on leads and people crossing between lawns and sand. The shared path calls for an easy pace even when it looks open ahead.

These are bicycle outings. Scooter access and e-bike requirements need a separate check for the device and location.

A couple of useful answers.

Does this outing reach Dunsborough?

No. Dunsborough is a much longer ride. This plan returns after at most 3 km outward from the Busselton jetty precinct.

Is a jetty visit included?

No. Finish and secure the bikes first, then check visitor access for a separate visit on foot.
